Whispering Creek Golf Club was established in 1967, then called Havenhurst. The 18-hole, par 72 course, which was originally designed by golf architect Robert Beard, is located on roughly 140 acres running along the Maumee River.

 After four local investors purchased the golf course, formerly known as Maumee Valley, they decided that necessary updates have to be made. New personnel will be hired, and GPS-equipped golf carts and maintenance equipment will be purchased. In the future, tee stations will be improved, rain shelters built and all bridges will be redone. Also, some of the holes will be reworked, and a pond will be added. The clubhouse's large fieldstone fireplace is in good shape and will be used as a starting point for interior remodeling. They also plan to put in a nice deck overlooking hole number 18 where anyone can enjoy lunch or a drink.

Besides the course, Whispering Creek, boasts a pro shop,

snack bar, and banquet hall.

Golf Season Returns!

The golf course has opened for the 2010 season, and everything is shaping up to be great.   The front 9 opened March 7, and the back should be open by the 21^st.

2010 Memberships are available, and it’s a great time to become a member at Whispering Creek.  We have a full schedule of member events that starts May 1^st with the Derby Day Scramble.  Players are divided ABCD and then play a scramble with the A player hitting from the gold tees, B from the purple tees, C from the whites, and D from the forward tees.  Then we’ll sit around and enjoy the Kentucky Derby on the big screen in the lounge.  A great season opening event!

Whispering Creek is signing up now for two new leagues!  We are starting a Tuesday night Nassau league, where you and your partner will play a best ball format against another team.  We are also starting a Wednesday morning Senior League.  The senior league will have a weekly game, as well as a season-long competition.  Call the Golf Shop at 260 749 5025 for details on either of these leagues, or to sign up.

Organizational meetings for Phil’s Wednesday Night Whispering Creek League and the Tuesday 2-man Scramble league are coming up.  The Wednesday league meeting is April 7 at 6:00, with play starting on the 14^th.  The two-man scramble league has their meeting April 20 at 6:00, with play starting the 27^th.
